MARION – Officials with Rent One Park in Marion revealed the name of the new Prospect League Baseball team during what they called “The Big Reveal Party” held at the ballpark Thursday night.

The team’s name will be the Thrillville Thrillbillies.

Other names up for consideration were Angry Beavers, Fungi, Swamp Foxes and Monkey Rats.

Officials say more than 7,000 votes were cast online for the team’s new name. And, after the votes were counted, Thrillbillies was the winner.

“Let us introduce our two mascots! Normally, a rabbit and a white-tailed deer are timid creatures, but these two, one on a side-by-side and one airborne, are Thrillbillies to the core,” explains Herby Voss, Marketing Specialist at the Black Diamond Family of Businesses. “Whether you get your thrills on a jet ski or from a fully loaded black Angus burger on a Krispy Kreme donut, we think you’re Thrillbillies too!”

Your invited to the ballpark on March 23 as officials will share their exciting plans to transform Rent One Park into the Capitol of Thrillville!

The Prospect League season begins May 31 with the Thrillbillies at home to face the Jackson, TN Rockabillys.
