NORRIS CITY – A Broughton man wanted out of Saline County for Robbery and by the Illinois Department of Corrections for violating parole was taken into custody shortly before noon Monday in White County.

According to White County Sheriff Jordan Weiss, the sheriff’s office along with Norris City Police were requested Monday by the U.S. Marshals Service Fugitive Task Force to assist in the apprehension of 28-year-old Roy A. Rector. Rector was believed to be at a home at Sandy Run Lake outside of Norris City.

Upon arrival, Sheriff Weiss along with a deputy and members of the Fugitive Task Force set up a perimeter around the home. Norris City Police Chief Dustin Dale identified a man matching Rector’s description sitting in a chair by the lake. U.S. Marshals then placed Rector in handcuffs without incident and took him to the White County Jail.
