MCLEANSBORO – Robert Earl “Bill” Rippee, age 67, of McLeansboro, IL, passed away at 6:19 p.m., Friday, February 24, 2023 at his residence.

Bill was born June 30, 1955 in Woodriver, IL to Robert Rippee Sr. and Mildred (Allsman) Rippee. He attended Granite City High School and later married Helen Louise (Carver) on June 21, 1986 in Cahokia, IL and Helen preceded him in death on March 7, 2016.

Bill worked as a heavy equipment operator and was employed at Granite City Steele until his retirement. He was a member of Turning Point Church of God in McLeansboro, IL. He loved hunting, fishing, camping, NASCAR, St. Louis Blues hockey, old cars and John Wayne memorabilia.

Survivors include daughters Brandi Combs (late husband Branden), Tammy Marsh (James), Karen Strole (late husband Kevin), Kim (Keith) Story, Lisa (John) McKay, Shelly (late husband Mark) Beasley; sons Burton Harmon, Jr. and wife Jerrie, Dupo, IL; David Harmon (wife Valeria), McLeansboro, IL; sisters Reava (Gary) Aaron, Rhonda (Jim) Mayo; Special Nephew Steven (Kristen) Rippee; several grand children, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; loving girlfriend Teresa Biggerstaff and great friend, Danny Birkner, McLeansboro.

Preceding Robert in death were his parents, Mildred and Robert Rippee, wife Helen Rippee and two brothers Steve and Tom Rippee.

Memorials may be made to the Turning Point Church Food Pantry and will be accepted at the Church.

A visitation service will be held Tuesday, February 28, 2023 fromt 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at Turning Point Church of God, McLeansboro, IL.

The funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. at the Church with Bishop Leo Hall officiating.’

Burial will follow in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in McLeansboro under the direction of the Harre Funeral Home, McLeansboro, IL.
