CENTRALIA – A 40-year-old Centralia man was arrested Sunday night after he reportedly jumped the 16th Street railroad crossing in his pickup truck.

Centralia police report Jared Karhoff was arrested on charges of Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol and Driving on a Revoked License. He was also cited for Improper Lane Usage, Leaving the Scene of an Accident and Illegal Consumption of Liquor.

Karhoff reportedly damaged the crossing gate and blew some tires on his truck when he jumped the tracks around 8:30 Sunday night at 16th in Centralia.

Police say he continued driving on 16th Street to Wabash where he turned into an oil field where police ultimately located him changing a tire.

He was taken to the Marion County Jail to await the formal filing of charges and the setting of bail.
