WARE – A crash involving a school bus and four other vehicles happened just after 3 Monday afternoon on Illinois 3 on the Alexander County side of the Union/Alexander County Line.

According to Illinois State Police, the school bus was going north and the other four vehicles were going south on Illinois 3 when for unknown reasons, one of the vehicles crossed the center line and struck the school bus. The school bus lost control and struck a semi with trailer. The school bus left the roadway and overturned in the ditch. The two remain vehicles involved struck debris on the roadway from the initial crash.

The driver and back seat passenger of the vehicle that struck the school bus were taken to a regional hospital with minor injuries. The front seat passenger in the vehicle was not hurt at the scene.

The school bus driver and passenger were taken to an area hospital with minor injuries.

The other drivers involved and their passengers refused treatment on scene.
