Phase 4 of the governor’s Restore Illinois Plan will be in effect as of Friday, June 26th.
We will keep you updated here with the changes that are occurring.
We should still be wearing masks/coverings and following the CDC guidelines.

The Phase 4 new rules will allow the following:

Soft reopening or expansion of key businesses like health and fitness centers, museums and zoos, indoor restaurants, etc.

Increase of group sizes- fifty or fewer people can now gather.

Changes to indoor and outdoor recreational events/activities.

We should still be wearing masks/coverings and following the CDC guidelines.

Phase 4 Guide

As your workplace reopens, or continues business as usual, DCEO has a new set of downloadable materials covering new guidelines. To find your industry-specific guidelines, go to Illinois.gov/businessguidelines.
Manufacturing and “non-essential” businesses are allowed to open with IDPH approved safety guidance.
Bars, restaurants, salons, spas, health clubs, entertainment and retail businesses may open with IDPH approved safety guidance AND capacity limits.
Business meetings, such as conferences, can return with either 50 or fewer attendees, or only half of room capacity.

Phase 4 Guide

While outdoor dining has been fun, it’s also nice to be able to eat within an air conditioned space!  Indoor dining can reopen with the following stipulations:
You must be in a group of ten or less.
Tables must be spaced six feet apart in seated areas and with standing areas at no more than 25% capacity.
Some restaurants in the Southern Illinois area will not choose to reopen, so make sure to call ahead to check!  Also, reservations where possible might still be a good idea.

Phase 4 Guide

Time to stretch out those legs and take advantage of the rule changes for indoor and outdoor recreation.
Select indoor recreational facilities such as bowling alleys, skating rinks and clubhouses may reopen to 50 customers or 50% of facility capacity.
Groups must have ample space to social distance and limit interaction between other groups.  Concession will be permitted with restrictions.

For day camps: Water-based activities are permitted in accordance with IDPH guidelines, no more than 50% of facility capacity, and groups  no more than 15 at a time, unless the participants change on a weekly basis.

Phase 4 Guide

Movie theaters can reopen with 50% capacity or 50 people inside at once.
Concessions can reopen with some restrictions.
Production of movies may resume, but are limited to 50% capacity at filming locations.  Crowd scenes are restricted to 50 people or fewer.

In the Southern Illinois area, AMC Theaters is our go-to.
At this time, AMC Theaters are not open.
When you go to their website and search showtimes for our local theaters (Marion, Carbondale, etc.) this is what comes up, quote, “This theatre is temporarily closed in accordance with local, state and federal guidelines. It will re-open when those guidelines allow. Please continue to check back here for updates.”

They also state that most theaters will reopen 7/15.
At this time, it does appear that theaters will ask customers to wear masks.
