METROPOLIS – A Metropolis man was found with meth and drug paraphernalia after leading Metropolis Police on a foot chase after being stopped recently at McDonald’s on 5th Street.
According to Metropolis Police, an officer saw a vehicle driven by 29-year-old Stephen S. Youman on Pullen Road and was aware that Youman had a revoked driver’s license
A computer check on the registration returned to a different vehicle. A traffic stop was conducted as Youman pulled into the McDonald’s parking lot. Youman fled from the vehicle on foot across 5th Street and a foot chase ensued. As the foot chase went behind the school bus barn towards Fort Massac, a taser was deployed and Youman was taken into custody. A search found him to be in possession of methamphetamine and a glass smoking pipe.
Youman was charged with Driving while License Revoked, Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, No Registration, Improper Use of Registration, and Resisting Arrest.
Youman was lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.
