MCLEANSBORO – Janice Lea Sigwerth, age 82 and a resident of McLeansboro, IL, passed away at 2:15 a.m. Friday, July 28, 2023. at McLeansboro Health Care & Rehabilitation Center, McLeansboro, IL.

Janice was born December 10, 1940. to Franklin and Helen (Harrison) Mitchell in McLeansboro, IL. She was employed as a Business Office Manager at Nature Trail Nursing Home, Mt.Vernon, IL; a Deputy Township Assessor, a Deputy County Treasurer for Hamilton County and was a Hostess at the Ramada Inn of Mt. Vernon.

She married N.J. Sigwerth on November 20, 1987 in Mt. Vernon, IL. He preceded her in death in 1997. Janice was a member of First Baptist Church, McLeansboro, IL

Survivors include daughters Julie McGovern of Johnston City, IL; Kimberly Murk and husband Tom of McLeansboro, IL and Lorrie Karcher and husband Scott, Dahlgren, IL.

Grandchildren Abbi Buchanan (husband Ryan), Wayne City, IL; April Grammer (husband Jim)
McLeansboro, IL; Jamie Tepovich (husband Derek), Freeburg, IL; Megan Sims (husband Brogan) Dahlgren, IL; Logan Karcher (wife Jessa), Dahlgren, IL.

Great-grandchildren Harper and Laken Buchanan; Mila, Graham and Maren Tepovich; Beck and Sloane Sims; Kai Grammer; Charlie and Maeve Karcher.

Two nieces and several cousins

Preceded in death by parents, first husband Keith Webb, second husband N.J. Sigwerth and brother Gary Mitchell.

A Private family memorial service will be held at a later date.

The Harre Funeral Home in McLeansboro is in charge of arrangements.
