Williamson County residents will have a chance to get rid of unwanted items during a countywide Spring Clean-Up Day set for Saturday, May 2. The event will run from 7 a m to noon at the Republic Services Herrin Transfer Station on Bandyville Road. Officials say the event is limited to county residents, and proof of residency will be required. Accepted items include household trash, electronics, appliances, tires and car batteries. Items like hazardous materials, yard waste and construction debris will not be accepted. County leaders say the annual cleanup helps reduce illegal dumping and keeps communities looking better.
