CARBONDALE – On March 6, 2026, at 8:15 a.m., City of Carbondale Police Officers learned of a video depicting an Aggravated Battery circulating on social media.  Upon learning of the incident, officers began an investigation and found it occurred on March 4, 2026, at about 11:10 p.m., in the 100 block of North Illinois Avenue in Carbondale.

Officers learned that the victims were battered by males during the incident, which appears to be the result of a personal dispute. Two suspects were identified as a 15-year-old and Tonndreick D. Williams, age 18, of Carbondale.  Williams and the juvenile were arrested for Aggravated Battery. The juvenile was released to his guardian pending a court appearance. Williams was incarcerated in the Jackson County Jail pending a detention hearing.  In accordance with the Illinois Juvenile Justice Act, the name of the Juvenile is not being released.

One of the victims has since been located and found to be in good health. The victim received minor injuries as a result of being battered by Williams and the juvenile, but declined medical treatment. Officers and Investigators continue to attempt to locate and identify a second victim.
