MARION – Two people were recently arrested in Williamson County following a traffic stop that turned into a foot pursuit and then a confrontation with law enforcement.

According to the sheriff’s office, David M. Mosbacker was wanted in Richland County for Robbery and in Williamson County for Escape/Violate Electronic Monitoring, Driving while License Revoked and Aggravated Fleeing Police.
On June 1, deputies saw a vehicle going east in the westbound lane on Pickett Lane in Marion. As it turned south onto Vinewood Lane, a traffic stop was initiated but the vehicle sped away and came to a stop at the intersection of Vinewood Lane and Anderson Drive.
Deputies saw the vehicle stop with Mosbacker getting out and running west. A foot pursuit began. The man ran through a residential neighborhood until he was caught.
The driver, identified as Patricia A. Utley, got out of the vehicle and began interfering with deputies. She was told several times to stay back, but didn’t, and was arrested.
Mosbacker, who was handcuffed, lunged at deputies in an attempt to hurt them while taking him to a patrol vehicle. He was secured in the vehicle.
Utley began resisting and fought a Marion Police officer. She injured herself and was taken to an area medical center out of an abundance of caution. Mosbacker saw Utley in custody and began making verbal threats to hurt law enforcement.
Mosbacker was arrested and cited for Threatening a Public Official, Escape, Aggravated Assault to a Peace Officer and Resisting/Obstructing a Peace Officer. He was taken to the county jail.
Utley was arrested and cited for Concealing or Aiding a Fugitive, Resisting/Obstructing a Peace Officer, Fleeing or Attempting to Elude a Peace Officer and Improper Lane Usage. She was taken to an area medical center.
