CARBONDALE – Two people were arrested on various charges after Carbondale Police stopped the vehicle they were in due to expired registration in the 200 block of West Main Street late Friday night.

According to Carbondale Police, in the course of the investigation, officers located a firearm inside the vehicle. Officers arrested 27-year-old Christopher A. Timmons of Colp for Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon and Expired Registration. Officers also arrested the passenger, 33-year-old Trance D. Neal of Carbondale for Obstructing Justice, as well as a Jackson County arrest warrant for failing to appear on a charge of Possession of Cannabis.

Timmons and Neal were lodged in the Jackson County Jail.

Carbondale Police continue to investigate.
