METROPOLIS – The Metropolis Police Department released the following information on Tuesday, Oct. 10, 2023.
Oct. 1, 2023
Metropolis Police received a 911 call that her mother and boyfriend were fighting in the bedroom at an apartment in the 2100 block of 5th Street. Upon arrival, officers learned that the victim was pushed down and busted her lip. Benjamin H. Turner, 28, of Metropolis was charged with Domestic Battery. Turner was lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.
Oct. 2, 2023
Peter P. Mayotte, 54, of Metropolis was arrested in the 500 block of Scott Street. Mayotte was wanted on a warrant. The warrant was issued by Massac County for FTA-Possession of Methamphetamine. Mayotte was lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.
Seth A Slayton, 20, of Paducah, KY was arrested on West 5th Street. Slayton was wanted on a warrant. The warrant was issued by Massac County for FTA-Illegal Consumption of Alcohol by a Minor. Slayton was lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.
Oct. 3, 2023
Metropolis officers were called to a vacant home in the 700 block of East 5th Street. Upon arrival, Officers located Jade S. Calmese, 32, of Metropolis inside the home. Officers also found her to be in possession of drug paraphernalia. Calmese was charged with Criminal Trespass to Property and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. She was released on a notice to appear.
A Metropolis officer observed James D. Bradley, 25, of Metropolis walking in the Huck’s parking lot. The officer was aware the Bradley was wanted on a warrant. The warrant was issued by Massac County for FTA- DUI. Bradley was arrested and lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.
Metropolis officers were called to a disturbance at a residence in the 2000 block of Ferry Street. Upon arrival, officers learned that Rosemary J. Bordoy, 47, of Metropolis had damaged property inside the residence. The victim wanted to sign a complaint. As the officer was explaining to Bordoy that she would be charged with criminal damage to property and released on a notice to appear, she became agitated and started to yell at the victim. The officer asked Bordoy to step aside so he could photograph the extensive damage she caused. Bordoy refused and started to resist the officers’ efforts to get by her. Bordoy was taken into custody and resisted efforts to be handcuffed. Bordoy was taken into custody an also charged with Resisting/Obstructing an Officer. After being processed she was released on a notice to appear.
Oct. 6, 2023
A Metropolis officer observed Christina L. Avila, 52, of Metropolis at Quail and Kennedy Drive. The officer was aware that she was wanted on a warrant. The warrant was issued by Massac County for FTA- Criminal Trespass to Property. Upon seeing the officer, she fled on foot. The officer was chasing her, observed her through a clear plastic baggie to the ground. Once she was in custody, officers retrieve the baggie which contained Methamphetamine. Avila was charged with the warrant and Possession of Methamphetamine. She was lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.
A Metropolis officer observed a red Ford traveling on 5th Street. The officer recognized the driver, Steven R. Garner, 63, of Metropolis and knew that his driver’s license was suspended. A traffic stop was conducted. Garner was charged with Driving while License Suspended and released on a notice to appear.
Metropolis officers were called to the Holiday Inn Express. The caller stated that a male was attempting to force a female into a vehicle. The victim was fighting back. Upon arrival, officer noted injuries/marks on the victims throat. Jerry R. Smith, 53, of Brookport was arrested and charged with Domestic Battery. He was lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.
Oct. 7, 2023
Daiquan J. Harman, 29, of Paducah was arrested at Harrah’s. Harmon was wanted on a warrant. The warrant was issued by McCracken County for Possession of a Handgun by a Convicted Felon. Harmon was lodged in the Massac County Detention Center pending extradition.
