
CARBONDALE – A man has been arrested in connection with a stabbing that happened Friday afternoon in the 500 block of South Poplar Street in Carbondale
Carbondale Police say detectives identified the suspect as 21-year-old Phillipe J. Mignon of Carbondale.
A Jackson County Sheriff’s deputy located Mignon at 7 p.m. in Makanda and arrested him without incident.
Mignon was charged with Aggravated Battery with a Deadly Weapon and Aggravated Battery in a Public Place.
Mignon was taken to and lodged in the Jackson County Jail
Police responded to the scene at 12:43 Friday afternoon in reference to the stabbing.
Officers provided emergency medical aid to the victim until the Jackson County Ambulance Service arrived and transported the victim to the hospital. The injury was not considered life-threatening.
The victim was treated for injuries at the hospital. The victim was reported to be in stable condition.
