CARBONDALE – A Carbondale man has been charged with Reckless Discharge of a Firearm and Aggravated Domestic Battery following a disturbance Sunday morning at a home in the 1200 block of West College Street.  

According to Carbondale Police, officers met with the victim who reported being battered by the suspect, 30-year-old Dakota W. Mitchell.  

During the course of the investigation, officers learned Mitchell battered the victim and had unlawfully fired a handgun inside the home Friday. No injuries were reported as a result of incident.  

Mitchell was arrested, charged and lodged in the Jackson County Jail.
