CARMI – The Carmi Police Department released the following information on Monday, March 13, 2023.

Twenty-four-year-old Alexis H. Bowles of Carmi was arrested at 11:55 p.m. Saturday, March 11, 2023 following a fight. The fight started at the Elks, but her arrest and actual witnessed altercation took place on the sidewalk and street in front of the White County Sheriff’s Office. Bowles is charged with Disorderly Conduct, Resisting Arrest, Aggravated Battery against a Peace Officer and Domestic Battery.

Sixty-four-year-old Kevin F. Brown of Carmi was also arrested for Aggravated Battery in the same incident. They are both being held in the White County Jail. Bond was not set.

Forty-five-year-old Jana L. Barton of Fairfield was arrested at a traffic stop at Huck’s in Carmi at 8:43 p.m. Saturday, March 11, 2023 for Unlawful Display of Registration. Barton was also cited for Operation of an Uninsured Motor Vehicle. She was taken to the White County Jail. Her bail was set at $250. Barton bonded out at 9:38 p.m. Saturday after paying her bond and a fee.
