VIENNA – Ameren Illinois Thursday presented Arrowleaf with a $2,500 check for its Client Choice Food Pantry, located at 101 Oliver St. in Vienna.

Arrowleaf requested a grant of $5,000 when it applied for the Ameren Cares Grant in November of last year.

The money will be used to provide increased access to fresh, nutritional food sources in efforts to limit the reported rates of food insecurity in the region.

Currently, it costs about $500 a week to run Arrowleaf’s two pantries in Vienna and Cairo.

Arrowleaf is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization operating and providing comprehensive behavioral health and community based services in the Southern Illinois counties of Alexander, Hardin, Johnson, Massac, Pope, Pulaski, and Union counties.

Donations to the food pantry and our other programs can be made at https://myarrowleaf.org/donation-form.
