NASHVILLE – Nashville, Illinois police arrested a 55-year-old Du Quoin man Thursday night after a traffic stop reportedly revealed he possessed a large amount of methamphetamine.

According to police reports, around 11:36 p.m. Thursday, a Nashville officer conducted a traffic stop on State Route 127 at Exchange Avenue.

The driver was identified as Ronald Bond. Police say that during the traffic stop a search revealed a hypodermic syringe and needle so Bond was taken into custody and a further search was conducted on his vehicle.

That search reportedly revealed a large quantity of suspected methamphetamine in the trunk of the vehicle.

Bond was then placed under arrest and transported to the Washington County Jail on charges of Unlawful Possession of between 100 and 400 grams of Methamphetamine and Unlawful Possession of Hypodermic Syringe and Needle.
