JEFFERSON COUNTY(WRXX) – As rain storms pushed through the area Monday, the Jefferson County Fire Protection District responded to north Copple Lane southeast of Centralia for a motorists stranded in floodwaters.
A flash flood advisory early Monday morning for Jefferson County quickly was upgraded before 9 a.m. to a flash flood warning after between two and five inches of rain had already fallen.
The National Weather Service said an additional half to one inch of rain was possible in the warned area.
It was around10:35 a.m. Monday when the call went out of the vehicle stranded on Copple Lane.
Jefferson Fire Protection asked Centralia Fire Protection to provide a raft but Centralia had to decline the call as they only have a full-size boat and no raft.
Neighbors were able to get the man to safety.
