‘Veterans on Parade’ to Be Held Saturday in Marion

MARION –  The 17th annual “Veterans on Parade” will take place Saturday along Main Street in Marion.

Ed Davis, President of the Veterans on Parade organization, said they started theparade to showcase veterans, honor them, and thank them for their service along with their families because they sacrifice just as much as the soldier, sailor, airman or marine who goes away. He said the parade “helps keeps the plight of the veteran in the public eye.”

The parade will begin at 10 a.m. on Main Street and end at the Williamson County Fairgrounds where a memorial ceremony will be held honoring all veterans, first responders, medical personnel, 9/11 heroes, those who sacrificed their lives for their country. Saturday marks 20 years since the 9/11 attacks in New York, at the Pentagon and in Shanksville, PA.
