Arkansas Woman Airlifted With Injuries After I-57 Crash

FRANKLIN COUNTY – An Arkansas woman was airlifted to area hospital with life-threatening injured after a single-vehicle crash at approximately 7:35 p.m. in Franklin County Friday.

According to Illinois State Police, 46-year-old Stacey W. Burgess of Blytheville, AR was driving a 2015 blue Mack truck tractor semi-trailer southbound on I-57 and struck a construction speed limit trailer after passing a vehicle and veering into the right lane, continuing onto the shoulder and down a ditch embankment to strike several large trees. Two trees subsequently fell on the tractor and trailer.

Additionally, Burgess was cited for Failure to Reduce Speed to Avoid an Accident.
