SPRINGFIELD – Gov. JB Pritzker received his first COVID-19 vaccination Wednesday at the mass vaccination site in Springfield.
More than five million does have been administered in the state, including the Johnson and Johnson shot given to Pritzker. He said he’s “thankful for the life-saving shot that will help get life back to normal.”
Pritzker added that 66 percent of seniors 65 and older have received a vaccine dose, with one in three Illinoisans age 16 and older having now been vaccinated.
For the state to move to the “Bridge Phase” of mitigations, 70 percent of seniors need to be vaccinated.
