SPRINGFIELD – The Illinois Department of Public Health reported 3,314 new COVID-19 cases and 69 additional deaths Wednesday, with southern Illinois health departments accounting for 163 new cases and two deaths in the region.
Currently, IDPH is reporting a total of 1,134,231 cases, including 19,375 deaths statewide.
Local case breakdown:
- Jefferson County: 40 (22 at correctional facility)
- Saline County: 23
- Massac County: 17
- Williamson and Union counties: 16 each
- Franklin County: 14
- Jackson County: 13, two deaths
- White County: 10
- Perry and Johnson counties: four each
- Pulaski County: three
- Gallatin, Alexander and Pope counties: one each
A total of 1,583,425 doses of vaccine have been delivered to providers in Illinois, including Chicago. In addition, approximately 496,100 doses total have been allocated to the federal government’s Pharmacy Partnership Program for long-term care facilities, bringing the total Illinois doses to 2,079,525.
A total of 1,094,135 vaccines have been administered so far statewide including 175,900 for long-term care facilities.
