MARION – Heartland Regional Medical Center in Marion has updated their visitation policy.
In a release from the hospital, the new policy will continue the practice of everyone entering the facility undergoing a temperature and illness screening. Masks and other mitigation requirements such as social distancing and hand washing are all still in place.
Those in in-patient care are allowed one visitor from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., including those in the Emergency room or preparing for surgery. However, the ICU will not be allow visitors at this time. The Courtyard Cafe in the facility is still restricted to employees only.
The new visitor policy coincides with the region moving to Phase 4 in the Illinois Department of Public Health’s COVID-19 mitigation plan.
The release stated some exceptions to these visitor restrictions may be made in special circumstances. Other considerations are made on a case-by-case basis “when essential to ensure the emotional health and well-being of the patient.” They noted to ask the nursing staff reagrding questions.
