Williamson County Circuit Clerk Resigns After DUI Arrest

MARION – The Williamson County Republican Party is expected in the coming days to name a replacement for former Williamson County Circuit Clerk Austin Crabb, who resigned over the weekend from her post after only being in office for a few months.

According to a Marion Police report released Friday, the 33-year-old Crabb from Carterville was issued citations for driving under the influence of alcohol, improper lane usage, operating an uninsured motor vehicle and improper turn at an intersection in the area of South Halfway Road and West Main Street on Thursday.

Crabb was elected to the Circuit Clerk’s office in November of last year and began her duties in December.

“We commend her for taking the timely and appropriate steps toward repairing this difficult situation. In addition, we wish her and her family the best,” the Williamson County Republican Party said in a statement.
