CARBONDALE – A Carbondale juvenile has been arrested in connection with an early Saturday morning vehicle theft in the 300 block of East Walnut Street in Carbondale.
According to Carbondale Police, officers learned the victim’s vehicle was left unlocked and running while the victim entered a business. The victim returned to find the vehicle stolen.
During an investigation, officers found the vehicle unoccupied in the area of Hester and State streets and was subsequently returned to the owner. Officers then arrested the juvenile male for motor vehicle theft.
After consulting the Jackson County State’s Attorney’s Office about the incident, the juvenile suspect was released pending a court appearance.
