Mt. Vernon Woman Injured in Williamson Co. Crash

Williamson Co. – A Mt. Vernon woman is recovering following a single-vehicle accident in Williamson Co. over the weekend. According to a release from the Williamson Co. Sheriff’s Office, the accident happened at around 5:25 Saturday morning on Illinois 148 at Grass Rd. when a vehicle being driven by 35-year-old Holly Steward of Mt. Vernon ran off of the side of the road and overturned, ejecting Steward from the vehicle. Stewart was taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Stewart was cited for Driving While License Revoked, Operating an Uninsured Motor Vehicle, Improper Lane Usage, Failure to Reduce Speed to Avoid an Accident and Failure to Wear a Seatbelt by a Driver.
