HARRISBURG – Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the 2020 Southern Illinois Made Expo will not be taking place as usual. In replacement, State Sen. Dale Fowler worked with southern Illinois businesses and chambers of commerce to transition the traditional showcase to the “Shop, Eat, Play-Safely-Southern Illinois Made” initiative.
During a virtual press conference Monday, Senator Fowler said this year’s Expo was off to an incredible start, but due to COVID-19, plans for the event had to be reevaluated and decided to go virtual. Fowler said “it’s been an incredible experience.”
The 2021 Southern Illinois Made Expo is set for July 24-25 in Marion. More information about the initiative can be found here.
