SOUTHERN ILLINOIS – The Illinois Department of Public Health Monday reported 2,742 new confirmed cases of COVID-19, including 13 additional confirmed deaths.
Since the pandemic started, 321,892 cases, including 8,997 deaths, have been reported statewide.
Local case breakdown:
- Jefferson County: 23 (over three days), two deaths at a long-term care facility
- Williamson County: 21
- Saline County: 13
- Franklin County: 12
- Hamilton County: five
- Gallatin County: three
The preliminary seven-day statewide positivity rate reagrding total tests from Oct. 5-11 is 4.3 percent.
