JEFFERSON COUNTY – Illinois State Police said Thursday one person was injured in a crash Thursday on Interstate 57 in Jefferson County.
Police said around 11 a.m., a red 2016 Freightliner truck tractor semi-trailer rear-ended another semi was stopped in traffic due to a construction zone at mile marker 102 on southbound I-57.
The driver of the red Freightliner, a 30-year-old man from Quebec, Canada, was flown to a regional hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. The driver and a passenger in the other semi refused medical attention.
Southbound Interstate 57 was closed for several hours and traffic diverted at the Dix exit.
