Saline Co. – Two teens are recovering following an alcohol related single vehicle crash in Saline County over the weekend. According to a release from the Illinois State Police, the accident happened at around 12:35 Saturday morning on Mt. Moriah Road just north of Land Road when a 17-year-old driver from Galatia failed to negotiate a curve and ran his vehicle off of the right side of the road, causing the vehicle to overturn in a ditch. Rescue crews took the driver as well as a 17-year old passenger from Marion to a local hospital for treatment of their injuries. There is no word at this time on the severity of the injuries. The teen driver is being charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, illegal consumption of alcohol by a minor and failure to reduce speed to avoid a crash.
