Start Date Among Changes Made for Harrisburg School District

HARRISBURG – The Harrisburg School District announced changes to their return to school plan for the 2020-2021 school year on Monday.

The first day of school has been moved back to Monday, August 24, after it was originally set for August 19.

Additionally, for at least the first 9 weeks of the school year, in-person learning is scheduled from 8-noon, and remote learners will be a part of class from 12:30 to 3:30. Students will regardless attend school in-person or virtually five days a week.

The district also is making parents aware that next week, a staff member from their child’s building will be calling parents to schedule an appointment to pick up student’s chrome-books, get training on remote learning, and possibly take quick diagnostic tests. Each will take place in small groups for distancing purposes.

The appointment is required whether students plan on attending classes in-person or remotely.
