HAMILTON CO. – The Hamilton County board voted to transfer $50,000 towards the county’s new ambulance service Tuesday night at their monthly board meeting.
A special one percent sales tax increase was passed in the spring election. The money from the new tax will go towards funding a new ambulance service in the county.
County Board member Chad May, also president of the board overseeing the creation of the new ambulance service, said progress is being made on starting the service, but right now the service is awaiting state licensing.
The vote was 4-0-1 to pass the transfer, with May abstaining from the vote.
May told the board the target date for the ambulance service’s launch is January 1st.
