HARRISBURG – The Harrisburg City Council is moving forward in the process to creating a new business district in the city.
Harrisburg Mayor John McPeek said the district will encompass much of the city and is being created to help fund the cleanup of blighted properties in the community. He added now more than ever it is important to keep Harrisburg attractive for residents and visitors.
A public hearing will be held on the new business district July 16.
In other business, the council gave authorization for the city clerk to advertise for bids for a backhoe and a skid steer, both for the water and sewer department.
