Illinois Attorney General Tests Positive for COVID-19

SPRINGFIELD (AP) – Illinois’ attorney general issued a press release Tuesday revealing he recently tested positive for COVID-19.

Attorney General Kwame Raoul said after experiencing minor symptoms over the weekend, he contacted his health care provider using telehealth services. He was then tested Monday and received notice Tuesday he was positive for the novel coronavirus.

Raoul said he has been self-isolating since the onset of his symptoms – which he added are mild – and will continue to do so.

Additionally, he said his provider is in the process of notifying individuals he may have come into contact with so they can also self-isolate and seek telehealth guidance.

He advises he is in regular contact with his staff and will continue to manage the operations of his office from home, while encouraging all Illinois residents to take precautions to protect themselves and vulnerable residents from contracting COVID-19.
