ELDORADO – Grocery stores big and small across the country are having trouble keeping up with the demand for various products through the COVID-19 pandemic. Mom-and-pop stores especially feel the pressure during these times.
Dan Doughty, owner and president of Big John’s in Eldorado, said sales are way up during these times, but his suppliers are still struggling to get caught up to the demand for certain products.
Doughty added he’s also struggling to find certain cleaning products such as rubbing alcohol and hand sanitizer. He said he is concerned about the meat supply with recent plant closures nationwide, but so far his store’s meat stock has been strong through the virus outbreak.
