CHICAGO – Illinois now has 1,285 confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus along with a dozen deaths statewide, according to state leaders at their daily COVID-19 press conference Monday afternoon.
Another southern Illinois county joined the list of counties to report a COVID-19 case, as Monroe County in the Metro East reported their first case Monday.
After Governor J.B. Pritzker and President Donald Trump had a back-and-forth about the federal response to the outbreak a few days ago, Pritzker said he personally spoke with the President on Monday afternoon. He said he told the president what he and governors around the country are facing when it comes to getting needed supplies.
