CARBONDALE – The movies are coming back to University Mall in Carbondale, as an announcement was made that VIP Cinemas will open in the former AMC Theaters space.

According to a release from VIP Theaters, they plan to open by spring after replacing seating and making updates to the screens and sound equipment.

AMC Theaters moved out of the Carbondale Mall two years ago.
