MARION – A Charleston, IL man was sentenced Monday in Williamson County Court to four years in state prison after pleading guilty to burglary – a Class 2 felony.
Williamson County State’s Attorney Brandon Zanotti said 32-year-old Tyler Wehr will also serve two years of mandatory supervised release following his release from prison. He has a prior burglary conviction out of Coles County.
According to Zanotti, on Oct. 7 of last year, a Marion police officer responded to an activated security alarm at a business on W. Enterprise Way. The officer found the suspect, later identified as Wehr, fleeing the location. An investigation revealed Wehr broke into a doctor’s office on the street and attempted to break into another business at the strip mall.
