Two-Vehicle Crash in Marion Results in One Injured, Charged

MARION – A two-vehicle crash happened south of Marion this morning, resulting in an injury.

According to Illinois State Police (ISP), a 16-year-old Marion boy was driving a 1997 Honda on Route 37 at Kellville Rd. around 7:45 when he veered into the southbound lane and struck a 1999 GMC head-on, driven by 40-year-old Jacob Whitt of Stonefort.

The boy suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was charged with improper lane usage. ISP have not said if he was taken to a hospital for treatment. Whitt was not injured.
