MCLEANSBORO – A Dahlgren man will face multiple charges after Hamilton County Sheriff’s deputies were sent to Illinois 14 west of McLeansboro for a report of a reckless driver traveling east towards McLeansboro around 5:45 p.m. Tuesday.
Hamilton County Sheriff Tracy Lakin said deputies intercepted the vehicle driven by 56-year-old Alan Rubenacker near the intersection of Jackson and Main St. in McLeansboro where the vehicle drove into oncoming traffic, almost striking another vehicle.
A traffic stop was initiated and Rubenacker was arrested and cited for improper lane usage, driving while license revoked, DUI (alcohol) and illegal transportation of alcohol (open container). He posted $300 cash bond and was released.
The sheriff’s office also arrested Rubenacker in September for DUI Alcohol/Driving Revoked. He has previous DUI offenses in Jefferson County in 2015 and White County in 2016.
