FRANKLIN CO. – Two are recovering following a crash involving a car and a semi shortly after 10 p.m. Monday night on northbound I-57 in Franklin County.
According to a release from Illinois State Police, the accident happened near milepost 75 when a vehicle being driven by 47-year-old Scotty Henry of Mounds City crossed the center line after swerving to avoid a deer, sideswiping a utility trailer pulled by 27-year-old Jonathon Adams of Jackson, MS.
Henry and his passenger, 47-year-old Nedra Henry of Mounds City, suffered what are considered major but non-life-threatening injuries. They were airlifted from the scene to a St. Louis area hospital. Adams and his passenger, 42-year-old Erezell Huddleston of Brandon, MS were not injured.
ISP says charges are pending.
