Portugal. The Man made a stop at the Troubadour in Los Angeles, CA Friday night for a special performance as part of the Hilton Honors Concert Series in partnership with Live Nation, teasing new music for 2020 along the way.
Billboard spoke with bassist Zach Carothers prior to the show, who said the band has been “recording a lot” since the release of 2017’s Woodstock.
Carothers mentioned the independent band has between 30-40 songs to release, with featured artists to be included in the mix. He added the album will hold a different sound verses the previous.
“This is like future punk show new wave. I don’t even know man. It’s some wild s***,” he said.
The band hopes to finish the album by the end the 2019.
