IDOT – Lane closures set to take place next week on I-57 and I-64 in southern Illinois. According to IDOT, a lane closure is set for northbound and southbound lanes of I-57, near milepost 65 to 64 in West Frankfort, on Monday, May 13 from 6 to 11 a.m. This is necessary so maintenance crews can conduct pavement testing in this area. Then on Tuesday, May 14, a lane closure will happen in the eastbound and westbound lanes of I-64, from milepost 73 to 62, in Mt. Vernon as maintenance crews will be conducting pavement testing from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. This will extend through Wednesday, May 15. Emergency vehicles will be allowed through the construction site as quickly as possible. You are encouraged to seek alternate routes while this work is underway.
