Former Sleater-Kinney Drummer Injured in Accident, Cancels Tour

Janet Weiss, former Sleater-Kinney drummer who split from the band last month, revealed via Twitter she suffered a broken leg and collarbone in a car accident last weekend. Her shows alongside Quasi and Slang have been canceled as a result.

Weiss’ Slang bandmate Drew Grow was also injured in the incident with a fractured rib. She noted that recovery time will span about 12 weeks.

“As thoroughly bummed as I am about canceling the shows, I’m also incredibly thankful the accident wasn’t worse and so happy to be alive!” Weiss said in the post. “Also tons of love and respect to my friends who are making me feel like a queen even whilst wearing a hospital gown. Hug your people and tell them you love them.”

Best wishes to Weiss on the rod to recovery.
